A 4-16×50 scope is suitable for hunting and target shooting at ranges from medium to long distances, generally up to 800 yards or more. The distance you can effectively see depends on factors like the quality of the scope, the target’s size, and atmospheric conditions. At the highest magnification (16x), the view is more detailed for longer shots, while the lowest magnification (4x) offers a wider field of view for closer targets. Designed for all hunting disciplines – from varmint to big game. All models feature Hawke’s H5 optics which boasts a stunning 24° ultra-wide field of view with generous 100mm eye relief. The H5 illumination system features multi-LED technology for high intensity illumination. The LR Dot reticle was developed around a typical centrefire trajectory, like the .308 Winchester round, which is popular around the world for shooting fairly large game. It also suits some of the faster bullets that might be used for hunting foxes and similar quarry. Many hunters like to use the same magnification for the rifle scope as their binoculars so the LR Dot reticle markings were designed at 8x magnification.
